  • The 71st CSRT Annual Conference was held on Saturday October 5th, 2013 at Quinnipiac University

    2013 Annual Conference Summary

Technologists had the opportunity to receive 7.5 CEU’s in total, with an additional track of 5 CEU’s for Mammography. It was such a pleasure to see many returning faces, and faces that had not been to the Annual Conference in years, but also new faces, who hopefully enjoyed the meeting and will return with friends next year!

The Conference kicked off with Keynote Speaker Daniel O’Hare Ph.D. with “Have You Had Your Ethics Today”, which was not only informative, but also entertaining and extremely well received. Dr. O’Hare also happened to be the ASRT keynote speaker in Albuquerque, New Mexico in June this year, and rave reviews were noted there as well. In fact all of our speakers this year received very high marks and attendees seemed to be pleased with the entire conference, making this year a great success!

During lunch the business meeting was held. Outgoing President Bill Hennessey emphasized again, how desperately we need to have RT’s in the State of CT become involved with the CSRT. The CSRT is trying to take a pro-active stand by hiring a lobbyist to be our eyes during legislative sessions in order to protect RT’s, and member numbers become especially important as Legislative issues arise.

A College Bowl report was given with the 1st place award given to Stamford Hospital students, and 2nd place to Hartford Hospital students.

Two awards were given this year. This year the John Archer Award, which is given to an RT who is an exemplary member of the CSRT, and serves 10 or more years, to Sharon Ritton-Holly. The Gail Pitkin Award is given to a speaker for dedication to the education of our RT’s, and was given to Daniel Demaio.

The Election of Officers for the 2013-2014 Board was nominated, presented and voted on by the membership as follows:

    Secretary: Kori Stewart
    Treasurer: Diane Kosenko
    Vice President: Tania Grgurich
    President Elect: Daniel Demaio
    President: Robert Grossman

The end of the lunch meeting brought the Installation of Officers performed by Donna Crum.

The culmination of the Annual Conference brought the much awaited drawing of the raffles for many wonderful donated items.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed the Raffle items, it seems to be the highlight of the end of the meeting day.

Please watch the website CSRT.US.org for the announcement of next years meeting; we look forward to seeing our old and new friends then!
